THE MENTORING ACADEMY PROGRAM

The Mentoring Academy aims to contribute to the integration, academic, and personal success of students at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança.
The program is organized into several components:
  • Mentoring (student-to-student)
  • Pedagogical Tutoring (student-to-student and teacher-to-student)
  • Non-Pedagogical Tutoring (teacher-to-student)
  • Integration Tutoring
  • Academic Success Observatory
  • Teacher Pedagogical Training
The Mentoring Academy program is supported by the Drop-In@IPB 2.0 project – Paths to Integration and Academic Success for Students of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, funded by the Program for the Promotion of Success and Reduction of Dropout in Higher Education Impulso Mais Digital – Submeasure for Innovation and Pedagogical Modernization in Higher Education.

Objectives

  • Promote the adaptation of students to higher education and, in particular, to the IPB
  • Contribute to the socio-academic inclusion of students
  • Provide guidance on the most appropriate choices, identifying constraints and difficulties that may jeopardize academic success and facilitate student integration.
  • Recognize and counter situations of academic failure as early as possible in the academic path
  • Contribute to the promotion of teaching quality and academic development
  • Increase the two-way flow of information between academia and students
