Pedagogical Tutorials

Pedagogical tutoring consists of study support and mentoring sessions, organized with the voluntary contributions of students, active faculty, retired faculty, alumni, and other collaborators (tutors) who possess the necessary skills to support students (tutees) who enroll in the initiative.
The main objective of tutoring is to help students overcome specific difficulties in specific Curricular Units (CUs). Tutors guide tutees in developing more effective study methods, assist with problem-solving exercises, and promote understanding of essential content, always focusing on autonomy and academic progress.
This support aims to contribute to academic success, social well-being, increased motivation, and reduced dropout rates by creating support networks and valuing cooperation among members of the academic community.

Non-Pedagogical Tutoring

Non-pedagogical tutoring is designed to support students in their personal, social, and practical integration into higher education.
They are led by faculty members (Non-Pedagogical Tutors) who guide small groups of first-year students, with whom they hold at least two meetings throughout the semester. These informal support sessions allow students to share concerns, expectations, or difficulties related to their adaptation to academic life, time management, personal organization, or even the social and cultural context of the city.
The goal is to provide a space for listening and guidance, promoting well-being, confidence, and a sense of belonging to the academic community. The tutor acts as a point of reference, helping each student navigate their academic journey with greater serenity, information, and confidence.
This aspect of the program emphasizes building positive human relationships and strengthening the bond between students and faculty, as an essential tool for the academic, personal, and social success of IPB students.
