Portugal Day

Today marks Portugal, Camões, and the Portuguese Communities Day—a day that celebrates cultural identity, the Portuguese language, and the connection between Portugal and its citizens around the world. This commemoration takes place on June 10th, the date of the death of the poet Luís de Camões, author of The Lusiads, one of the most emblematic works of Portuguese literature.

It is also a symbolic moment to recognize the country's cultural and historical heritage, as well as the contributions of Portuguese communities abroad.
